Problems installing VMware tools (manual installation)
By jeltsch on Thu, 04/05/2007 - 21:36For some reason VMware 4.5.2 didn't manage to update the VMware tools using the regular option under "VM -> Install VMware tools...". So I had to install them manually: sudo /sbin/losetup /dev/loop1 /home/your_username/vmware-distrib/lib/isoimages/windows.iso mkdir /home/your_username/temp sudo mount -r -t iso9660 /dev/loop1 /home/your_username/temp/ As my home directory is visible under VMware, I started the setup.exe manually. Everything went OK, although VMware still complains after the reboot that my VMware tools are out of date...
